Today, Mitchell Elementary proudly celebrates International Women’s Day! 💜
We honor the incredible women and girls who inspire our students every day, our teachers, staff, mothers, mentors, and future leaders sitting in our classrooms. Their strength, kindness, creativity, and determination help shape a brighter future for our school and our community.
At Mitchell Elementary, we believe every student should grow up knowing their voice matters and their dreams are possible. Today we celebrate the achievements of women everywhere and encourage our students to continue lifting each other up.

📚We invite all parents to join us tomorrow, March 6, starting at 8:00 a.m. in the Work Room (Parent Room) to celebrate Read Across America at our school.
Come enjoy a fun morning where parents will: Create crafts inspired by Dr. Seuss characters. Some parents will have the opportunity to volunteer as guest readers in their child’s classroom.
After the celebration, parents are invited to attend a Drug Prevention Workshop at 9:30 a.m., presented by Chicanos Por La Causa. Parents who attend the workshop will receive a gift card incentive. (Please note: the gift card will only be provided to parents who attend the workshop.)
We will also be registering mothers who would like to participate in the Women’s Month Celebration event that will take place on Friday, March 20. 🌸

This week our students will take the Middle of Year iReady Diagnostic in Reading and Math. The Diagnostic helps students:
✨ Celebrate what they’ve learned
📊 See their progress toward goals
🎯 Know what they need to learn before the end of the year
📚 Get new lessons that are just right for them
It also helps teachers plan instruction and support based on each student’s unique needs.
Please remind your child to take their time, try their best, and get a good night’s sleep. We can’t wait to see their growth!
