During Hispanic Heritage Month, it is important for us to highlight the life and work of Jaime Escalante, an accomplished educator who had a profound impact on the field of education. Originally from Bolivia, Escalante was a mathematics teacher at Garfield High School in East Los Angeles. Here is where he transformed the lives of students, many of whom came from underprivileged backgrounds and faced significant educational challenges. Despite these challenges, he was able to help them to achieve remarkable success. However, his achievements were frequently met with skepticism. Nevertheless, his remarkable story went on to inspire the 1988 film, ‘Stand and Deliver’.

Hello Isaac Families,
Parent Teacher Conferences are approaching next week. Students will have half day dismissal during these days October 4-6, 2023. If you have any questions, please reach out to your child’s teacher.
