This is a friendly reminder that Coffee with the Principal will take place tomorrow, Friday, April 17 at 8:30 a.m.
This will be followed by our parent activity “Planting for the Planet,” where parents will help plant in the school garden as a demonstration to our students in celebration of Earth Day and in support of caring for our planet. Your participation makes a difference.

Dear Mitchell Families,

Please save the date for our upcoming District-Wide Art Festival. The event will take place on Saturday, May 2nd, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Seventy-five Mitchell student artists will be invited to showcase and display their artwork. Hope to see you there!!!

Dear Parents,

We have had an increase in students coming to school sick over the past couple of weeks. The guide attached outlines when it’s okay for students to attend school and when they should stay home to recover.

Please help us keep all of our students and staff healthy by following these guidelines. If your child has a fever, persistent cough, vomiting, diarrhea, or other concerning symptoms, it’s best to keep them home until they are feeling better and meet the return-to-school criteria.

If you’re ever unsure, don’t hesitate to reach out to the school nurse—we’re here to help!

Hi Mitchell Elementary School Families, we have Spring Recess (No School) Friday, April 3rd and Monday, April 6th. We will see everyone back on Tuesday, April 7th. Grades 3rd - 5th will begin testing the ELA portion of AASA.

Hi Mitchell Families, Tomorrow we will start our AASA Writing Test:

- Please make sure your child gets 8-10 hours of sleep each night.
- Please make sure your child arrives at school by 7:25 A.M.
- Encourage your child to do his/her best work.
- Please do not schedule any appointments (doctor, dentist, etc.) during testing dates.

📚We invite all parents to join us tomorrow, March 6, starting at 8:00 a.m. in the Work Room (Parent Room) to celebrate Read Across America at our school.

Come enjoy a fun morning where parents will: Create crafts inspired by Dr. Seuss characters. Some parents will have the opportunity to volunteer as guest readers in their child’s classroom.

After the celebration, parents are invited to attend a Drug Prevention Workshop at 9:30 a.m., presented by Chicanos Por La Causa. Parents who attend the workshop will receive a gift card incentive. (Please note: the gift card will only be provided to parents who attend the workshop.)

We will also be registering mothers who would like to participate in the Women’s Month Celebration event that will take place on Friday, March 20. 🌸

It’s one of our favorite times of the year—when students and staff come together to show school pride, have fun, and get creative!

No School - Presidents' Day
There will be no school on Monday, February 16, 2026 in observance of Presidents' Day.
Students will return to school on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.
