One of our classrooms got a special surprise treat during a scheduled parenting class today and the Phoenix Zoo brought visitors to meet with the kids and their parents. Everyone got to meet animals such as; Jefferson the beetle, Billow the rainbow boa, Pandora the turtle, and Peach the tenrec, The Phoenix zoo read a story all about how we all live on the Earth and we need to take care of it not only for ourselves, but all of the animals as well.

Isaac preschool was lucky enough to get another visit from Maira the therapy dog today!! She is always a big hit in the classrooms! Our students just love how calm and fluffy she is!

This week, A Stepping Stone went on another field trip!! This time, they visited butterfly wonderland and the Mccormick Stillman Railroad Park. 3D movies about the migration of the monarch butterflies, visiting with 1 day old butterflies and moths, and then exploring the habitat with thousands of butterflies flying freely around you. Everyone had a blast!! Some butterflies even landed on a student, and 2 moms! Did you know that butterfly wonderland also has aquarium and reptile exhibits? We cannot wait to go back next year!!
¡¡Esta semana, A Stepping Stone realizó otra excursión!! Esta vez, visitaron el museo de las maravillas de las mariposas y el parque ferroviario Mccormick Stillman. Let's take a minute to discuss something that is a common occurrence at the preschool level; separation anxiety. If you find yourself asking "What is separation anxiety?" you're not alone. Separation anxiety is a fear of being away from parents or caregivers. It's developmentally normal for children under 3 years old who are still learning to be independent.
As kids get older, however, some may worry that something bad will happen to people in their absence, or they still feel lost and scared. Going to daycare or school can be difficult for children who experience separation anxiety, and they often experience something like the "Sunday Scaries" that some adults get before the start of the workweek.
Things that disrupt kids' routines can make these feelings worse. For example, significant life changes like a divorce, a move, a new sibling, or a pandemic can make a child feel like life is a little less predictable—and a little more worrisome.

Today the Isaac Preschool had a special visitor, Maira the therapy dog! The kids were so excited to say hi and give gentle pets to Maira! What a treat!!

Last week, Isaac Preschool's A Stepping Stone classroom went on another field trip!! This time their adventure was to the Arizona Museum of Natural History in Mesa. You may have also heard of this museum as "the Dinosaur Museum". The dinosaur exhibit that moves and make noises is always a favorite, but the students had a blast panning for gold, cleaning fossils, exploring old mines and jail cells, and all of the other exhibits the museum had to offer! We can't wait to go back next year!!
¡La semana pasada, el salón de clases A Stepping Stone de Isaac Preschool fue a otra excursión! Esta vez su aventura fue al Museo de Historia Natural de Arizona en Mesa. If you noticed that the parking lot was quite crowded on Monday, it was because the Isaac Team gathered at Estrellas Brillantes (our new campus name) for another productive session dedicated to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging. Our day was filled with insightful reflection, engaging discussions, and a deep dive into academic data. Together, we are committed to aligning our actions with the evolving needs of our students.
