Today's Governing Board Meeting was proudly hosted at Joseph Zito Elementary School, where Principal Ms. Laura Couret de Gentile extended a warm welcome to the Isaac Community. The Zito Student Council delivered a powerful recital of the poem "The Promise Land," setting the tone for a celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. This was highlighted by an energetic performance of "De Colores" by a group of vibrant fourth-graders. The student performances concluded with a display of traditional "gritos" by a talented group of scholars. The meeting also included a comprehensive review of site accomplishments and a special recognition of staff achievements. We are deeply grateful to our ISD Community for their ongoing commitment and support in making these meetings successful. #IsaacPride

Hispanic Heritage Month Staff Spotlight. Cynthia SilvaGarcia Isaac Online Prep Academy.
What does Hispanic Heritage Month mean to you? I am a danzante, often referred to as an Aztec or Mexica Danzante. Many have seen us dance in circles, but there is much more beneath the surface. Each movement reflects the natural elements—earth, wind, fire, and water. Through this practice, we connect with our ancestors, Aztec cosmology, and the natural world. These ceremonies strengthen community bonds, drawing from ancient traditions to bring people together. In this way, I am woven into the lives of the people I serve, just as they are woven into mine. Danza unites us, fostering a deep sense of cultural pride and spiritual connection. During National Hispanic Heritage Month, we celebrate these cultural indigenous traditions, which enrich communities and promote a more inclusive understanding of American identity. And that is a good thing. Cynthia SilvaGarcia, Isaac Online Prep Academy.
