To our Assistant Principals/TOSAs serving in the Isaac School District, we want you to know the work you do is important and so appreciated! Does your assistant principal make a difference for your school? Gratitude is a gift that always fits. Show your assistant principals how much you value their contributions by sharing words of appreciation. Parents, teachers, and students we encourage you to take some this week to shadow your appreciation!

National Assistant Principals Week
This week for #mystorymonday we would like to share Ms. Elena Estrada and her husband’s experience in raising their son Brian. “My husband Armando had this to say about our son: I remember this poem Good Timber, it reminds me of our son Brian as nothing has come easy and our son exemplifies strength through his hard work. Its message is that people grow and reach their true potential, like trees. It also shows that through struggles, like a tree that is fighting through forest growth to reach the sun, that people grow and discover their true potential. It is about the AMAZING journey and experiences we all share as a family raising our son.” Good Timber Poem: https://5il.co/183w3 #prouddad #AMAZINGjourney #mystorymonday #autismgold

Isaac Families & Community, The COVID-19 Community Level has been at Low levels for 2 consecutive weeks. In our ISD mitigation plan, mask wearing is now optional in school settings and in district buildings, effective April 4, 2022. Mask wearing is now based on individual preference, informed by individual risk. We highly encourage mask wearing based on an individual's risk and environment. Exception: If students and staff ride a bus, mask wearing is REQUIRED ON BUSES through April 18th.

Today, April 4th we recognize the professionals who keep the school library in working order. School librarians spend long hours keeping the library organized. They are also dedicated to helping our students find the resources they need to keep learning. School librarians are the people who create an environment where students can learn every day of the year. Their work is an impressive accomplishment. Thank you to all of our school librarians!

Every April we celebrate Autism Awareness Month and World Autism Awareness Day (April 2) in an effort to bring more attention to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and the needs of the people and families who are affected by it. There are so many unique and beautiful ways that autism presents itself. To celebrate Autism Awareness Month, we will be highlighting the stories of those staff, students, and families within the autism community in order to highlight the many unique challenges, talents and contributions they have encountered along their journey. #mystorymonday #autismgold

March 25th is National Cerebral Palsy Awareness Day. Over 17 million people worldwide are impacted by Cerebral Palsy (CP), which is considered the most common, lifelong motor disability caused by an early developmental brain injury. Despite being the most prevalent motor disability affecting 1 in 345 children, no dedicated federal funding currently exists for CP research. Learn more about Cerebral Palsy and how to do your part to advocate for increased federal funding https://www.gogreen4cp.org/learn-more
