The ISD Writing Contest is an annual event where students share their winning writing pieces. Thank you to our families for joining us in celebrating our amazing writers district-wide.

May 10th is celebrated across the country as National School Nurses Day. Thank you to all of our school nurses, nurses assistants, and medical staff who support our students in their time of need. We appreciate your kindness and care towards our students across ISD.

A press conference was held regarding our recent purchase of new electric school buses as we were recipients of a grant. This grant allowed us to make these purchases that will ultimately have a positive impact on our Isaac Community and the environment. We thank our community partners Environmental Defense Funds (EDF), Chispa Arizona, and Moms Clean Air Force organizations for contributing to this event.




As we continue Teacher Appreciation Week, we celebrate not only our classroom teachers but our entire school staff. We are fortunate to have devoted educators and support staff. Tonight’s Governing Board Meeting was filled with celebrations and recognitions district wide. The Superintendent’s Award of Excellence recipients were nominated by colleagues and honored for their dedication in accountability, communication, collaboration, and training. Ms. Maria Guzman was honored for her Outstanding Service as ISD Board Clerk. The Governing Board also approved 2 new leaders for the 2023-2024 school year, Ms. Griselda Cohen as Principal of Pueblo del Sol and Mr. Ryan Garza as Principal of Mitchell Elementary School. Thank you to our Isaac Community for joining us.


Congratulations to our recipients for the Superintendent's Awards of Excellence. It is an annual Isaac tradition to recognize and celebrate our staff members district wide at the end of each year. Recipients included Rookie of the year (3 years of less teaching within ISD), Classified Member of the Year, Teacher of the Year, Administrator of the Year, and School/Department of the Year. Thank you to all staff who nominated a colleague or supervisor, for the committee for reviewing nominations based on criteria and for all who contributed to this successful event.




As a token of appreciation from Superintendent Dr. Mario Ventura and the ISD Leadership Team, have sponsored a sweet treat to all sites. Teacher Appreciation Week is not only about classroom teachers but also about the entire school staff who change the trajectory of every student they come in contact with on a daily basis. The ISD Arts Festival showcased students’ art and musical talents from across the district. It was wonderful to see our Isaac Families join us today. Performances throughout the day included ballet folklorico, musical performances from guitar, choir, and band students, as well as performances from dance teams. Thank you to all who participated in the planning of this amazing event and to our Isaac Staff for supporting our talented scholars.




Today we recognize School Lunch Hero Day. This day of gratitude is for all of our ISD Cafeteria Staff for the incredible work they do in providing all of our students free and nutritious breakfast and lunch daily. Our school nutrition professionals are our true heroes.

At Isaac, we are grateful for our dedicated staff who are committed daily in supporting our students and Isaac Community. At our last Governing Board Meeting (4/27/2023), our Isaac School District Governing Board approved a 3% pay increase for all Isaac Staff returning for the 2023-2024 school year along with a $1000 contract signing/return to work stipend. An additional $1000 increase to the Classroom Site Fund amount will be added to Certified Teachers and Certified Support Staff. All eligible employees will receive a $4000 retention stipend and adjusted amount for non-full-time positions.
Thank you to our Isaac School District Governing Board for the support in retaining and recognizing our dedicated Isaac Staff.

Congratulations to Joseph Zito Elementary and Morris K. Udall Middle School for their accomplishments in the iReady Program. Elementary students and staff celebrated with a parade and visit from Plory while middle school students enjoyed snacks and games in the “Hive”. Keep up the hard work and dedication Isaac Scholars!
