Last week, A Stepping Stone classroom got to attend their second field trip of the year and visit Tolmachoff Farms. The students learned about what products come from the produce from the farm, navigate a corn maze, pick fresh fruits and veggies to take home, ride in a tractor train, and play around the farm. Everyone had such a great time and cannot wait to go back next year!!
La semana pasada, el aula de A Stepping Stone pudo asistir a su segunda excursión del año y visitar Tolmachoff Farms. Los estudiantes aprendieron qué productos provienen de los vegetales de la granja, navegaron por un laberinto de maíz, recogieron frutas y verduras frescas para llevar a casa, viajaron en un tren tractor y jugaron en la granja. ¡Todos se lo pasaron genial y estamos ansiosos por volver el año que viene!
November 6-10 is National School Psychology Week. At our preschool site, we have two school psychologists, Dr. Dalia Rostenberg and Mrs. Doris Alarcon, who both provide support to our team through a variety of activities. Our psychologists schedule and lead Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team meetings, evaluate students to identify them with developmental delays and educational disabilities, support teachers, families, and administration, provide training on special education topics, and support student needs by observing, consulting, collaborating, and helping to develop plans of support in the preschool setting. They also facilitate the planning and implementation of quarterly Child Find preschool screenings to help identify students with potential delays as well as participate in the planning and implementation process of transitions from preschool into kindergarten. Thank you to our school psychologists for all you do!
Del 6 al 10 de noviembre es la Semana Nacional de Psicología Escolar. En nuestro sitio preescolar, contamos con dos psicólogas escolares, la Dra. Dalia Rostenberg y la Sra. Doris Alarcón, quienes brindan apoyo a nuestro equipo a través de una variedad de actividades. Nuestros psicólogos programan y dirigen reuniones del Equipo de Evaluación Multidisciplinario, evalúan a los estudiantes para identificarlos con retrasos en el desarrollo y discapacidades educativas, apoyan a los maestros, las familias y la administración, brindan capacitación sobre temas de educación especial y respaldan las necesidades de los estudiantes observando, consultando, colaborando y ayudando. Desarrollar planes de apoyo en el ámbito preescolar. También facilitan la planificación e implementación de evaluaciones preescolares trimestrales de Child Find para ayudar a identificar a los estudiantes con posibles retrasos, así como participar en el proceso de planificación e implementación de las transiciones del preescolar al jardín de infantes. ¡Gracias a nuestros psicólogos escolares por todo lo que hacen!
Tuesday was Bret Tarver Isaac Preschool's annual please and thank you parade. Students get the chance to practice their manners at each classroom asking politely for a treat, and thanking the staff member who gave it to them. The student services team created a sensory experience for the students, with lights, a crawl through tunnel, stairs, balance beams and a texture wall. The students had an absolute blast!!
El martes fue el desfile anual de favor y agradecimiento del preescolar Bret Tarver Isaac. Los estudiantes tienen la oportunidad de practicar sus modales en cada salón de clase, pidiendo cortésmente un regalo y agradeciendo al miembro del personal que se lo dio. El equipo de servicios estudiantiles creó una experiencia sensorial para los estudiantes, con luces, un túnel para gatear, escaleras, barras de equilibrio y una pared texturizada. ¡¡Los estudiantes se lo pasaron genial!!
This week was also spirit week at Bret Tarver! We had crazy hair day, silly sock day, wacky Wednesday, pajama day and Disney day. Please enjoy these pictures of our preschool spirit!!

Our developmental preschool team attended their first field trip last week! These four classrooms were invited to the Arizona State Fair. The students had a blast exploring with their families!! So many smiles and laughs!!

One last exciting first from last week!! We mentioned in our last post that the preschool campus was serving many purposes, and one of those purposes is a shared learning space for district professional developments. Our district leaders and ISD staff engaged in the first professional development session in this new space about Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB). Dr. Gregory C. Hutchings facilitated this session with our Isaac leaders about the importance of DEIB as together, we can honor the diversity of our learning community.
¡¡Una última novedad emocionante de la semana pasada!! Mencionamos en nuestra última publicación que el campus preescolar cumplía muchos propósitos, y uno de esos propósitos es un espacio de aprendizaje compartido para el desarrollo profesional del distrito. Nuestros líderes distritales y personal de ISD participaron en la primera sesión de desarrollo profesional en este nuevo espacio sobre Diversidad, Equidad, Inclusión y Pertenencia (DEIP). More exciting news from last week! If you didn't know Bret Tarver Isaac Preschool's new campus serves many different purposes, and departments. Over fall break, the Curriculum and Instruction department of Isaac School District officially moved into the preschool campus. Heart of Isaac also joined the party, and utilizes space for community events on our campus as well! So if you see some new faces around the preschool, they are part of our Isaac family. Be sure to smile and say hi!!
¡Más noticias interesantes de la semana pasada! Si no lo sabía, el nuevo campus de Bret Tarver Isaac Preschool tiene muchos propósitos y departamentos diferentes. Durante las vacaciones de otoño, el departamento de Currículo e Instrucción del Distrito Escolar de Isaac se mudó oficialmente al campus preescolar. Heart of Isaac también se unió a la fiesta y también utiliza espacio para eventos comunitarios en nuestro campus. Another fun first from last week was that A Stepping Stone got to attend their first field trip. The families from the class had the opportunity to visit the Crayola Experience in the Chandler mall. So many fun memories!! There were tons of opportunities to let the students' creativity shine!!
Otra novedad divertida de la semana pasada fue que A Stepping Stone pudo asistir a su primera excursión. Las familias de la clase tuvieron la oportunidad de visitar la Experiencia Crayola en el centro comercial Chandler. ¡¡Tantos recuerdos divertidos!! ¡¡Hubo toneladas de oportunidades para dejar brillar la creatividad de los estudiantes!!
Last week was a busy week at Bret Tarver Isaac Preschool. Welcoming all students and staff back from fall break, as well as lots of new and exciting things happening! We can't wait to fill you in!! Construction has been finished on both playgrounds (for now) and the temperature has dropped enough that the students are now allowed to utilize the playgrounds!! They couldn't be more excited!! We'd be surprised if you haven't already heard all about it, but ask your student to tell you about their favorite thing to do on the playground. We love being able to make memories out in the fresh air, while improving gross motor and social skills all at the same time!!
La semana pasada fue una semana muy ocupada en el preescolar Bret Tarver Isaac. ¡Damos la bienvenida a todos los estudiantes y al personal después de las vacaciones de otoño, así como a muchas cosas nuevas y emocionantes que están sucediendo! ¡¡Estamos ansiosos por informarte!! ¡¡Se terminó la construcción en ambos patios de recreo (por ahora) y la temperatura ha bajado lo suficiente como para que los estudiantes ahora puedan utilizar los patios de recreo!! ¡¡No podrían estar más emocionados!! Nos sorprendería que aún no haya oído todo sobre esto, pero pídale a su hijo que le cuente cuál es su actividad favorita para hacer en el patio de recreo. ¡Nos encanta poder crear recuerdos al aire libre y al mismo tiempo mejorar la motricidad gruesa y las habilidades sociales!

Last week we announced our new Preschool Coordinator here at Bret Tarver Isaac Preschool. This week we'd like to provide a little introduction.
Greetings! I am Mrs. Adrianna Aragon and I am honored to be the Preschool Coordinator of such an extraordinary learning environment. I'd like to introduce myself. Over the past 19 years, I have worked as an educator. I have had the pleasure of working as a primary teacher, mentor teacher, assistant principal, and an ELA (English Language Arts) strategist for Preschool - second grade. Before Isaac Elementary School District, I taught at Tempe Elementary School District and ASU Prep Academy.
As your new Preschool Coordinator, we will continue to empower our students by providing an environment that focuses on the needs of our diverse student population, and deliver standards-based instruction that recognizes our students' individual needs. All of us at Isaac Preschool are committed to working together, to help all of our students succeed. I look forward to partnering with you, in your student’s educational journey!

La semana pasada anunciamos a nuestro nuevo Coordinador de Preescolar aquí en el Preescolar Bret Tarver Isaac. Esta semana nos gustaría ofrecer una pequeña introducción.
¡Saludos! Soy la Sra. Adrianna Aragón y me siento honrada de ser la Coordinadora de Preescolar de un ambiente de aprendizaje tan extraordinario. Me gustaría presentarme. Durante los últimos 19 años, he trabajado como educadora. He tenido el placer de trabajar como maestra de primaria, maestra mentora, subdirectora y estratega de ELA (Artes del Lenguaje Inglés) para preescolar - segundo grado. Antes del Distrito Escolar Primario Isaac, enseñé en el Distrito Escolar Primario Tempe y en la Academia Prep ASU.
Como su nuevo Coordinador de preescolar, continuaremos capacitando a nuestros estudiantes brindándoles un entorno que se centre en las necesidades de nuestra diversa población estudiantil y brindando instrucción basada en estándares que reconozca las necesidades individuales de nuestros estudiantes. Todos nosotros en Isaac Preschool estamos comprometidos a trabajar juntos para ayudar a todos nuestros estudiantes a tener éxito. ¡Espero asociarme con usted en el viaje educativo de su estudiante!

Parent-Teacher conferences are officially complete and fall break has begun!! Reminder, the Bret Tarver Isaac Preschool will be closed October 9th - 13th for Fall break. We will see you all again on October 16th!! Have a fun and safe break!!!

Good morning Bret Tarver families!! Just a reminder that parent-teacher conferences are taking place today, tomorrow, and Friday. If you have any questions or cannot remember when your conference is, please feel free to call the front office. There will be no school Wednesday - Friday this week. Happy almost fall break!!!
