She is originally from Mexico City but grew up in the east coast, right in the city of Chicago.  Being so close to these places was great because she was able to benefit from all of the cultural experiences that these cities offer.  At a very young age she was impressed with all types of art from all over the world and she knew that art would be a big part of her life. Her love for art has enabled her to explore several mediums of fine art and crafts including all types of drawing, painting, sculpting, ceramics, printmaking and fibers. She exposes her students to a variety of different materials and introduce them to the artwork of artists from all around the world and throughout history. She believes art is important in education because it allows us to express and develop our ideas and emotions; stimulate their creativity while nurturing the soul. When children are exposed to any artistic activity the brain is stimulated from sounds, movements, fosters intellectual development, memory, attention, concentration, also improves and acquires social skills and promotes self-esteem.
